Inner sanctum of the White House

What would push me to defy doctors orders and travel with a sick child during their spring break?

How about bowling at the White House Truman Bowling Alley with a few friends, hosted by my favorite Economist!  On top of that we saw some amazing areas not open to the general public.  That experience is truly at the top of the list of coolest things I’ve ever done.

Ben looking like he belongs there.

We were fortunate to tour the West Wing and spend several minutes just gazing at the Oval Office and contemplating what was said inside those walls, what was decided and who sat in those great rooms. I wish my Dad was still alive so I could have shared it with him. Pictures were not allowed so we had to do our best to burn those images in our memory.  However, we did leave with Presidential M&Ms.

I am a very lucky girl with some truly amazing friends.
